The 3 Riojas

Do you want to learn everything about La Rioja and its wines? This Three-Day Tour will make you an expert.

The region of La Rioja consists of three sub areas: Rioja Alavesa, Rioja Alta and Rioja Baja. Each one of them, with its own different features. The soil, the climate, the culture and the wines are quite different in each area.
- Rioja Alavesa: Atlantic climate, calcareous-clay soils, protected by Sierra Cantabria mountains, with a tradition of young wines, especially 'carbonic maceration'.
- Rioja Alta: Continental-Atlantic climate, clay soils, calcareous, ferrous and alluvial, fresher. Well balanced wines in every aspect.
- Rioja Baja: Continental climate with Mediterranean influence, clay ferrous soil, and very rich in nutrients. This is what favors the fine red Garnacha wines, highly aromatics and less bitter. It is the most unknown part of our region.

We will need three days, to visit three wineries each day, and of course, to discover the cuisine of each area.

Duration: 3 days, 10 hours each day.
